Directed by Matt Reeves, The Batman makes wise adjustments in just about every respect, finding a solution for Christian Bale's aggravating growl/whisper line delivery (Pattinson speaks softly, but he never strains) and for the soulless, gray color scheme of the Zack Snyder movies. This riveting take on Batman is, refreshingly, more of a detective story than an action spectacle - although it does offer that element, too, as well as complex characters and relevant themes. There are things kids do not need to see. This is an adult film and I wish I had viewed it with other adults not my children. The film itself is clever, I loved that Batman is solving a mystery.
I felt uncomfortable watching this with my kids. Lots of on screen drug use and mob brutality. There may not be nudity but there are many scenes in a strip club, a scene where a woman is dressing in sheer underwear (she may as well have been naked), and a character who is obviously a prostitute however that label is not assigned.

Loud but friendly growl clue movie#
It seems that the producers walked a line to get this movie rated this way to appeal to families. I’m shocked that this movie is rated pg 13.
Loud but friendly growl clue serial#
There are serial murders which are depicted in a way similar to that of seven or saw. A limb is severed and used as a punch line to a joke. A man getting his head smashed in, with blood seen. Extreme brutality was depicted on more than one occasion. I was shocked by the violence portrayed, this was not your average video game shooting violence. We recently took our 14 and 11 year old boys. 15 year olds should at least be with a parent or guardian, otherwise I recommend this movie for kids 16 and up. No matter how Warner Bros tries to market this film, ‘The Batman’ is for grown ups. There is profanity here and there, one F-bomb. It’s a heavily directed five second scene.

There is no sexual content, but there is some flirting, and one scene where a character is shown suggestive pool dancing. The riddler sends disturbing videos taunting Batman and yells maniacally. Characters are beaten badly to death, shot, killed, and tortured. This is an extremely violent and angry movie. He is very much inspired by the Zodiac killer. The Riddler is a sociopathic serial killer, who is trying to expose the city’s deepest darkest secrets. Bruce Wayne is shown as a troubled young adult who has been severely scarred by his childhood and the world around him. Take ‘Joker’ (2019), but instead place it in modern day Gotham city where everything is damned and vile. These famous comic book characters that have been depicted on screen for years are nothing that you’ve seen before. ‘The Batman’ is an adult feature that takes inspiration from ‘Se7en’ (1995) and ‘Zodiac (2007). If you and your kids are interested in a fun superhero movie, go see ‘No Way Home’. It is rated PG-13, but don’t let the MPA rating fool you by any means. It’s way more darker and grittier than The Dark Knight (2008) and Watchmen (2009). If you were a fan of Batman (1989), Batman Returns (1992), and The Dark Knight Trilogy, this movie is way different than all of those movies. While Bruce Wayne is also dealing with his own demons that effect him. When a sociopathic social media conspiracist known as The Riddler starts killing and torturing people using his riddles, it’s up to Batman to stop him.

‘The Batman’ is another re-adaptation of the Caped Crusader, and stars Robert Pattinson (Tenet, Good Time) as Batman, who is struggling in a chaotic and hell-like version of Gotham City. The movie is more diverse than previous takes on the Dark Knight, deals thoughtfully with the nature and cost of vengeance, touches on how social media can spread misinformation, and, even with a 175-minute runtime, is one of the best Batman movies to date. Part of the plot revolves around a fictitious drug business the drug consists of drops placed in the eyes (addicts are called "dropheads"). Characters kiss, there's sex-related dialogue, and a woman is seen in her underwear as she dresses. Language isn't constant but includes several uses of "s-t," "son of a bitch," "goddamn," and more. The movie's action violence is intense, with killings and dead bodies, guns and shooting, explosions and crashes, lots of fighting (punching, kicking, hitting with objects, choking, etc.), a severed thumb, violence against women, descriptions of upsetting events, and more. This Batman ( Robert Pattinson) is conflicted and violent but also uses his head and learns as he goes along. Parents need to know that The Batman is a new/rebooted take on the iconic superhero.
